As more parks restrict letterboxing, I'm also doing more boxing in cemeteries. My criteria for placing is if there is some historical person, place or event associated with the cemetery that I can introduce to people in a respectful way. Cemeteries are usually not crowded and can be quite beautiful to visit.

We used to do quite a bit of letterboxing in cemeteries as well. They're generally easily accessible, beautiful places and so long as it's done respectfully I don't have a problem with it. Unfortunately, some maintenance personel apparently don't feel the same way - several of our boxes didn't last very long.

Cemeteries are good but the "respectful" part is really, really important. More than in some other settings, you have to anticipate the results of boxers misunderstanding the clues and searching in the wrong places.
You don't want to set something up so that it's reasonably possible for someone to wind up partially-dismantling a wall, thrashing through a memorial garden, or the like.
Sensitivities are very high when it comes to cemeteries - whether the graves are new and thus the grief is fresh, or old and thus historic.
